Oracle Application Express (APEX)
DBMS_CRYPTO in APEX 5 with Oracle 11G
I need to encrypt my password and then the encrypted value will be stored in database. I am thinking to use DBMS_CRYPTO, following this tutorial: http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/183098/So, I granted DBMS_CRYPTO to user APEX_050000 and granted is successful. Then I created a PL/SQL process: DECLAREl_hash raw(2000);BEGINl_hash := DBMS_CRYPTO.hash(utl_i18n.string_to_raw (par_password || par_id || upper(par_username),'AL32UTF8'),dbms_crypto.hash_sh1);END;This code seems doesn't work because when I validated it, it gave me error: ORA-06550: line 6, column 11: PLS-00201: identifier 'DBMS_CRYPTO' must be declared ORA-06550: line 6, column 1: PL/SQL: Statement ignoredWhat should I do to fix this? Based on this book "Expert Oracle Application Express Security", APEX 5 supports DBMS_CRYPTO.Thank you.
That's a permission problem. You don't grant execute to APEX_050000, you grant it to your workspace parsing schema. Hope this helps,Paul
