How do I prevent Increasing volume while ringing? - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

I absolutely hate it, especially with the ring tone I'm currently using. Any way to get rid of it?

Can you give us more information? I do not see how the volume can keep increasing unless that option is present in the ROM you are using.

I'm completely stock, unrooted. I haven't found the setting for ascending volume anywhere but it's activated by default.

For approximately the first five seconds, my ringtone volume (the default one - Moto) is ascending. Afterwards, it is constant.
Did you try with a custom ringtone that is not available with the system?
EDIT : Try this app. It seems to be a common issue with Samsung's phones.

If you are rooted poke around under system media for the right file and rename it.

Also curious if anyone finds a solution for this.. Its super annonying when riding my motorcycle. With my helmet on if I lower the vol then try to go back up to max it doesnt because I have my phone buried away in my jacket and inaccessible.
Having the same problem. Trying to work listening to music but keep having to take my phone out of my pocket to change the volume back. Getting really old really quick! I listen to a lot of music and this just isn't acceptable. If it wasn't for the crappy camera of the HTC One I would already be considering taking this phone back. I don't want to have to root and fiddle with my phone anymore, I want a phone I can just use without having to tinker with it.
I too had this problem, but it's gone now... not really sure what I did.. I definitely didn't mess around with any system files.. now I'm really curious how I did it.. I'll see what settings I changed and report back!

Charge your phone?
But seriously, just use root explorer to delete boot.ogg in system/media/ui/audio
Obviously you have to root to do this.

Check the Development section. I think there is a mod in there to disable it.

I can't find it? link?
The only way round this is to keep the level above the warning and dont go below. If you need to go below use your headphones volume control (if it has one)
What is this warning all about? why has it been introduced? is it only on the s4? it's health and safety madness, i'm sure people have the sense to listen to music at a level they want, if its too loud for their ears thats down to them, its our ear 'oles
I got the message once, I think I just hit a check box to not appear again. Now when I do it a little warning pops up that says it could be dangerous and goes away but doesn't stop me from increase the sound to max
It's weird, the first week I had the phone I had to click an 'OK' button every time I wanted to go over about 80% volume. Now I just get a toast-style message but I don't need to click through any confirmation window. I don't remember clicking or even having an option for a 'don't ask me again' box. Maybe once you've dismissed the window enough times it just never comes back?

Not sure what you mean by charging my phone. In my /system/media/audio/ui I have no boot.ogg.

That's to remove the boot sound, I don't think he read the title or op...
If I have my phone in my pocket and I turn the volume up when the screen is off I still get a pop up that will not allow me to go past until I hit OK. Annoying when I am on my bike and I have to stop and take out the phone. I am also using different head phones so I have to use the volume rocker from my pocket.
When screen is on you get a warning but doesnt effect sound. When screen is off and you use the rocker to adjust it will stop the increase, light up the screen and force you to click ok to proceed with vol increase

Same for me, when the screen is on I just get the small message at bottom but it allows me to go past it. Whats annoying is that all head phones are different, and half the time I am just using the phone as an aux plug-in for my truck.

Silent without vibrate in Stock?

Simple question but I can't find a solution. Is there a way, other than manually setting ringer to a silent ringtone, to make the M silent without vibrate in the stock ROM?
I'm a third shift worker and vibrate wakes me as bad as a ringer would. I know you can do it in custom ROMs. Any help would be appreciated.

I just press Vol- until it goes to vibrate, and then press it one more time for total silence.
Thanks, that did it for now. I would still like to find a software method, so if anyone knows, please post it here. Thanks!

Sushhhhh or somehow like that on the play store free.
What I use is notification toggle by j4velin. It fits in your notification bar in which you can turn on/off all sorts of things, sound is one of them.

Vibration Settings Not Sticking

Hello again.
Not sure if this has already been discussed. Apologies if it was - I tried searching with Tapatalk but couldn't find anything.
I set my vibration settings to heartbeat but it doesn't seem to do anything. When notifications come through, I'm still getting the default long buzz. Anyone else run into this?

Hahaha yes I definitely am. It's sticking in terms of the option being persistent in the settings, but when it comes to it actually being used, I'm still getting the default long buzz. Will try a few of the other options and see what happens.

make your own one see if that sticks
Maybe this is a stupid question. Does the vibration pattern affect notifications or just the ringtone? I hate having such a long pulse for a short notification tone.
Apologies if it only affects the ringer. I'm just getting used to the Note 3. Can't wait for some good roms to come out for the Verizon version!

Shut Off Volume Limit

Any way to shut off the volume warning. It is a pain when streaming in the car.

Gravitybox has this option if you are rooted.
Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
If you are rooted, there are some files in the /etc directory that pertain to this, I will get the names an locations exactly for you if you want.
It only happens once after every time the phone is restarted. It's annoying, but every time I restart the phone I plug in some headphones, start playing some music, bump the volume up until the message comes up, and I never see it again.

Can't change ring tone volume.

All of a sudden today my ring tone volume goes all the way down and I can't raise it back up. Volume rockers don't work, and if I go into setting the ring tone volume is greyed out. The only thing I've done differently today is pair a Moto H730 bluetooth headset. I can't imagine how that would affect this.
Update: rebooting fixes it, but only for awhile then volume goes all the way back down. Also I've noticed apps in folders on my home screen rearranging themselves which is super irritating.

Have you tried a factory reset? I know that's a sucky option, but it might be worth seeing if that works.

Haha dang you caught me! If you're still pretty much stock, that's about the only thing I could think of doing to maybe get it fixed.
I wonder if you didn't acidentally set a quiet time and forgot about it.
