On Screen Keyboard - Wing, P4350 General

I was sending a text message half asleep today and somehow I turned on the on screen keyboard. This is the 1st time I have ever seen it since flashing my ROM. My question is how do I get rid of that annoying keyboard icon sitting in the middle of my task bar. I know if I just ignore it and use the regular keyboard the on screen one stops popping up but I want to turn it off completely. After not seeing it for 2 months it's driving me nuts after a hour of looking at it and trying to turn it off again.

you press the keyboard looking button on the bar below it. it should disappear. to stop the keyboard from appearing, just dont kit the button

I know that part but what I'm saying is I don't even want the keyboard button down there. I have a cooked rom on my phone and before I turned it on unknowingly I have never seen it before this, I want it gone period.

Slide out keyboard should power on device.

Doesn't pulling out the keyboard mean that I wish to use the device?
If so why didn't they make doing so to power on the device automatically.
Can this be done?
This is something I've thought of too, especially since once you have slid out the keyboard, it becomes difficult to hit the power button (or do I just have fat fingers )
would love to know if some one could get this to work.
This is so obvious to us that it should be doable. Let's hope it is.
I don't think this would be a good idea. because the keyboard slide easly open when you pull it out of the case or when you just handle it. each time it will power up on unwanted moments. your battery will draw more quickly.

It would only need to power up when the backlight of the keyboard comes on, so that would require the keyboard to be fully open. It's unlikely you'd do that by accident.
I agree its only when it clicks back fully that the the screen flips over which means it should be safe to turn on at that point.
Besides it seems to lock closed rather nicely for me but perhaps with age it will wear out.
At least as adults we could have been given the option to take the risk !
i agree this would be a good idea - in fact i wondered why it doesn't do this by default when i first used it...
Slide out keyboard should power on device
Yes this is missing, let the power on respons on the end of sliding like the screen switch!
What if it automatically opened the "new text message" window as well? I think that could be quite cool, cause the only time I open the keyboard is to write a message usually

Click to collapse
Logical thing would be to make "keyboard opened" a configurable "button", just like how you can assign actions to other (real) buttons.
Is the JasJam better behaved than WM2003 models in terms of waking up? My iMate PDA2k wakes up and activates the screen when e.g. received SMS, or connected bluetooth, or all sorts of things. Having the screen activate causes lots of accidental things like making phone calls etc. Same thing happens getting it out of holster or pocket while ringing. When it wakes up to ring or otherwise notify, the screen should stay locked until a hard button is used.
has there been updated with this?
Ive searched the registry thinking that if the OS knows the keyboard is open and rotates the screen then surely we can tell it to wake it up. But not much luck...

A few questions

I have just got my first Hermes, little behind the times, but oh well. Anywho, I have a few questions about some quirks I've noticed with the phone. I've searched around the forums a lot, and still haven't found a lot of answers I am looking for. Here's what I've noticed.
1) The bottom bar is very annoying. I've used the registry edit to hide the battery symbol, and the comm manager, but it slows the phone down ten fold. I've tried using a program, I can't remember what it is called. It hid the bottom bar, which is not what I wanted. Is there anything I can do to remove these icons?
2) If I disable the Green Service LED, what does it mean by I will not vibrate anymore. Vibrate period?
3) When charging, the backlight stays on the entire period of time, as do the keys on the face of the phone. Is there any way to turn these off while charging.
4) Same as above with the keys, whenever you touch the screen the keys come on. Is there any way to make it where the keys only come on if I press one of them?
I think that is all for now, if anyone could help with the aforementioned, I would greatly appreciate it.

The word "Messaging" wont go away unless I click on it

Why when do I sometimes see the word "Messaging" in the top left corner of the screen. It wont go away till I touch the screen. It also still wont reflect the correct time until I touch phone. Is this a flaw. Why does the word "Messaging" always randomly appear and when it does it wont go away until you touch something.
Has anyone else noticed this, can this be fixed
Messaging and Incorrect TIme
I have the same issue. The time does not update, until the phone is clicked. Notifications come on randomly during a call.
yeah its weird, I will be sleeping and when I wake up the next morning the Imagio is like 7 hrs off because the stupid messaging is on. But once I touch the Imagio it is gone and the correct time is displayed. This is so weird and annoying. Why is it doing this and I really hope there is a little fix/cab for this.

Nexus S keyboard lockup

So I've noticed that if I leave my phone on for a long period of time. Usually for over a day that when I go to text someone the keyboard will lock up or be distorted. Such as if you try to turn the phone sideways only half the keyboard will be there and samething when you turn it back. Or the keyboard will be there but when you push the keys nothing works or responds. Sometimes the keyboard wont even be present and I can't type a single thing. I can back out of it and use my phone like normal. The only way I've found to fix this issue is to just power off the phone and start it back up again. Let me know if anyone else has a solution to this problem or has experienced it.
I just experienced this last night only what happend to me was my key presses were being registered way above or below where I was typing. Soon as I turned it off tho it went away.

On screen keyboard mode switcher button problems

This is probably going to not get any responses as most people aren't using the on screen keyboard, but I'll post it anyways.
Has anyone's on screen keyboard had the mode switching button break? This is the button in the bottom right that lets you switch between full keyboard, thumb keyboard, and transcriber. When it stops working, the icon disappears. If you click it, the key turns white and stays white and does nothing.
I don't know what causes it to break, but once it's broken, I can't get it to work again. It seems to be user-account specific. It works fine on other user accounts I create, but once it breaks on one account it stays broken.
this happens to me too, ms forums only ever says refresh your pc, that work for less than a day, hopefully it is fixed by beta
