WIFI and long random wpa pass phrases on TyTn

Hi all,
I've got a a wifi network with a full length pass phrase that uses the complete extended ascii alphabet (including characters not on the TyTn) and am wondering if there is a way to cut and paste the key into the network key field of the wifi configuration wizard?
Thanks
Same problem
Yes, I have the same problem as you do. I can not paste the long WPA key into the box. The Paste option is disabled. Did you find any solution?

I use a free download called Hitchhiker which is meant for seeking out and making it easy to log onto networks. I've just tried and it allows pasting of the key into the box. If you then exit hitchhiker it says it will disconnect from the network, But don't worry as it saves the key to the appropriate place so when you log in again by the normal route it is already entered.
NB obviously you can save a text file on PC with the key on it and move it to Hermes but when pasting use ctrl v to paste on softkeyboard not usual press and hold the stylus as that does not give the paste option.

can anyone get Fring / Palringo working with TMO 5.99 data plan?

can anyone get Fring / Palringo working with TMO 5.99 data plan?
the most important thing is..
How did you get it work? I setup the proxy server with port 8080. I could surf to different websites from PIE and Opera Mobile. However, i could not get neither Fring nor Palringo connected.
If U mean TMO in UK, there is a problem. If u read the bloody small letters with desc. of data plan U can see there its not for IMs. They are blocking ports. (I think all except 21, 80 and several others.)
Not sure if you found the solution yet.
I had the same question and this worked for me.
You Need:
A registry Editor Software(Freeware, google search it)
What to do:
Change the Following keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Parlingo/Settings
-Change "Connection /Proxy/Host" to 216.155.165.50
-Change "Connection /Proxy/Port" to 8080
-Change "Connection /Proxy/Type" to 1
Save.
Recommend a Soft Reset(Turn Phone Off and Back On)
Run Palringo again, everything should connect.

Try to restart your data connection. It doesn't seem to work if you have dialed or answered calls while your data connection is live.

i think what happened is i needed to create one of the registry values or something. after that i noticed i also had an extra one as well. erased that one and 'voila'(i shouldnt have written that, but whatever.)...
alls well...
edit:
i needed to create new string values as proxy host and proxy port did not exist. give them the names and values found above.

mms msg problems

hi guys, i have a problem. when i receive mms messages, the pictures are sooooo tiny. i have it set to download manually and when i look at the msg details it'll say that the msg is 100+ kbs in size but after it finishes downloading, the picture is only about 5kb in size. same thing goes for short audio files(if a person sends me a 10-15sec recording, i only receive a 5sec clip of it). have any of you the same problem? i've looked through all my settings and can't find anything that would help if i changed them so i come to all you kind ppl. please help. thanks in advance
I think this topic came up around 2 weeks ago on XperiaX1.net, and I think they concluded it was a network (carrier/provider) setting. Might be worth a look.
thats what i first thought but with my n95 and all my previous ericssons, it's never been an issue. i've always received everything in full. but perhaps i have some incorrect mms server settings on this phone. i'll look into it. thanks for the quick reply
The phone speaks to your network when downloading the message and your network is going "I have no idea what this phone is" so it sends down the small version. If you search there was a regedit which tricked the network in to thinking you were a different model.
LOL, the answer to your question is literally 11 threads down!

There was one guy who had this problem over at esato and he fixed it. This is hidden in a rather long genieric thread so i'll just copy his post here...
"Basically, it has something to do with the phone not being set up, or directing to the correct 'profile' with the network operator. For example, my settings were directing to the Taiwan HTC website for some reason. Because O2 didn't have these settings, it was defaulting the MMS settings to how they were when MMS was first introduced.
The solution is basically using a program like PHM Registry Editor to change the profile, so it directs to the correct details. However, as there aren't any specific Xperia ones yet, you can have it use those of another phone. In my case, I have used the N95 settings, as these are ones set up on O2.
So, in the reg editor you need to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - Software - Arcsoft MMS UA - Config - mm1 - WspHeader
There will be 6 strings in this part of the registry. You just need to edit the 'User-Agent' profile to:
NokiaN95/11.0.026; Series60/3.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1
And the 'Profile' string to:
http://nds1.nds.nokia.com/uaprof/NN95-1r100.xml
You don't need to reboot. And that should get the pics coming through at the correct size.
Hope this helps if anyone is having the same problem."

How to delete a connection

Hi there,
I was testing with Internet connections, and somehow I was blocked in a screen with no possible exit. I was in the "INTERNET" connection edit screen, but pressing Accept told me that this name was already in use... I only wanted to check settings, but it was like creating a new connection!
So, I finally added a leter to the "INTERNET" and now I have two new connections: "INTERNETg" and "INTERNETt" which I can't delete.
I have located them in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations\INTERNETg
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations\INTERNETg
But I can't delete them... they seem to be protected. How can I get rid of them?? I've googled, I've searched in xda... no solution.
Can anybody help? Thanx!!!
Sorry! I had the CeRegEditor running and it didn't allow deletion... Closed it and from PHM RegEdit I could delete them.
Thread can be closed/deleted
